We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, GTS Energy and Materials Sales.

In This Role You Will

  • Originate new commodities-sector business and deepen existing client relationships aligned to the Bank’s target profile
  • Build senior client connectivity (Treasurer, CFO, Trade Finance Heads) to strengthen access and influence
  • Partner with Global/Regional coverage teams to deliver trade and working capital solutions for regional treasury centres in Singapore
  • Use HSBC’s regional footprint and Singapore hub to onboard NTB/NTT clients, grow existing business, and capture inbound/outbound Asia flows
  • Drive structured trade opportunities by coordinating with Sales Managers, leading RFPs/pitches, and proposing bespoke trade finance solutions
  • Monitor commodity markets and trends to identify opportunities and provide timely insights to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Create and execute client plans to grow assets, sales, and revenues; maximise cross-sell with RMs/product specialists and ensure smooth implementation for complex deals
  • Maintain strong risk and control discipline: manage credit risk with RMs, complete due diligence, assess risk/reward, and comply with HSBC policies while supporting HSBC values and culture

To Be Successful You Will Need

  • Degree-qualified (Finance/Business or related) with front-line trade finance experience
  • Strong commodities client network with a proven track record managing large global clients
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex trade finance, including structured commodity deals (prepayments, receivables finance, inventory finance)
  • Deep expertise in commodity trade finance and working capital structuring, with strong understanding of commodities markets and product risk profiles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, able to connect insights to practical client solutions and lead opportunities with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative and self-directed communicator—effective with senior clients and diverse global teams; strong presentation skills and proficient in MS Office
