Role Overview:

The Asia-Pacific (APAC) Spatial Design role will be responsible for creating and implementing visually appealing and functional store designs that align with CHAGEE APACs brand identity and enhance the customer experience. This position involves conceptualising and designing Flagship and Concept stores, visual merchandise displays and collaborating with various teams to ensure cohesive and effective space design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual merchandising, store design, and interior design within the retail sector, particularly in the food and beverage industry.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Store Design: Conceptualise, develop and implement store design concepts and layouts that reflect CHAGEE APAC’s brand identity, vision and operational requirements.
  • Design and select FF&E, fixtures, materials, and finishes that create the desired ambiance
  • Visual Merchandising: Create visually appealing merchandise displays that enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
  • Space Planning: Optimize store layouts to ensure efficient use of space, improve customer flow, maximize product visibility and enhance guest experience
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Design, brand & marketing, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and effective store designs.
  • Project Execution: Coordinate with Project Managers, contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external designers, contractors, and suppliers to bring store design concepts to life
  • Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design practices into store layouts to minimize environmental impact.
  • Market Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and best practices in visual merchandising and store design.
  • Compliance: Ensure all store designs comply with local and international regulations and industry standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed proposals on store design projects, including performance metrics and strategic recommendations, to the APAC Design Head.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in store design, visual merchandising, and interior design, particularly within the retail/F&B sector.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, 3D rendering software will be a plus. Able to explore use of AI to augment design process.
  • Excellent creative and innovative thinking abilities, with knowledge of sustainability practices in design.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Independent worker with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus to communicate with Mandarin speaking stakeholders.
  • A passion for retail design and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability for some work travels within APAC Region.
