Toyota Motor Philippines is looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our Plant & Facility Department based in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines.
As an Environmental Specialist, you will support and ensure environmental compliance and sustainable operations across our facilities. Youll coordinate key environmental programs, monitor compliance, and help implement systems and initiatives that align with regulatory requirements and company environmental standards.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor sewage treatment operations to ensure systems operate effectively and in compliance with environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Scrapyard Operations to ensure operational requirements are met while maintaining environmental compliance.
Support grounds maintenance operations by fulfilling environmental operational requirements and responding to support requests.
Execute the functions of the Pollution Control Officer (PCO), implementing pollution control programs and ensuring compliance with environmental protection practices.
Monitor waste streams and secure timely and proper disposal of wastes and by-products in accordance with environmental policies and regulatory standards.
Secure environmental permits and licenses, manage renewals, and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
Implement and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 standards, including preparing for and conducting internal audits.
Review, update, and standardize environmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance and improve procedures.
Develop and deliver environmental training programs to build awareness and enhance compliance across the organization.
Support and participate in environment-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen environmental performance.
Our Perfect Match:
You have a bachelors degree in Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
You have strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
You can prepare environmental reports and documentation for regulatory compliance.
You are able to work collaboratively with various teams to implement environmental programs and practices.
You can communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
You are proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks while ensuring high quality standards.
You are prepared to work onsite and travel to other sites as part of your responsibilities.
Skills Required:
Environmental regulatory knowledge & compliance – Understanding of environmental laws, waste management practices, permitting, and compliance standards relevant to plant operations.
EMS & ISO 14001 implementation – Ability to support environmental management system processes and participate in internal audits.
Analytical & problem-solving skills – Capable of evaluating environmental data and identifying improvements.
Communication skills – Strong verbal and written communication for reporting, training, and stakeholder engagement.
Project coordination & organization – Ability to manage environmental tasks, documentation, and operational coordination with attention to detail.
Adaptability & teamwork – Works effectively with diverse teams and adapts to changing operational needs.
Continuous improvement mindset – Proactive in identifying and implementing environmental and operational improvements.
