Job Description

The Process Engineer is a key technical role, responsible for enhancing plant processes and driving productivity gains. They will lead the implementation of control systems and address technical challenges, reporting to the Process Engineering Manager. This position is integral to the Process Engineering Group and aligns with II-VI's values.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve and optimize plant processes to increase productivity and expand output and services.
  • Install control systems for established processes and ensure their effective operation.
  • Take a lead role in addressing and communicating technical issues, providing timely solutions.
  • Accountable for the successful completion of assigned tasks and preparation of Process Engineering deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with the Process Engineering Group and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices.
  • Conduct process audits and identify areas for improvement, implementing necessary changes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other engineers and team members.
  • Document and maintain process-related records and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Materials Engineering) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a process engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for process simulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric approach.
