7News Regional is seeking a driven, multi-skilled Journalist for our Seven Rockhampton newsroom.
This is a great opportunity to work with Australia’s leading broadcast media organisation and will give you the opportunity to improve your journalism skills and take another step in your career.
Reporting to the Supervising Producer and based in Rockhampton, the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Rockhampton, QLD news market.
What Youll Do
- Generate original daily story ideas for on-air presentations.
- Interviewing, writing and voicing.
- Develop and maintain contacts in the community.
- Research and prepare news reports.
- Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
What Youll Bring
You are a talented Journalist and motivated self-starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism. You’ll also bring:
- Proven experience writing news stories.
- Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications.
- Exceptional communication and written skills.
- The ability to work to very tight/ precise deadlines.
- An understanding in Broadcast Law Guidelines.
