Developmental Editor

Adarna House is currently in need of a Developmental Editor who will work closely with authors, project managers, and subject matter experts to ensure that book projects are pedagogically sound, curriculum-aligned, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate for the intended learners. The position requires strong pedagogical insight and a capacity to shape content into engaging, accurate, and learner-centered resources.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Conducting developmental editing to improve structure, clarity, and instructional effectiveness
• Ensuring alignment with national curriculum standards and learning competencies
• Strengthening pedagogical soundness and learner-centered design
• Guiding authors in maintaining consistency, logical flow, and developmental appropriateness
• Reviewing content for grammatical accuracy and language quality in Filipino
• Ensuring inclusion, cultural sensitivity, and representation in all materials
• Validating accuracy of examples, exercises, and instructional components
• Providing clear and constructive editorial feedback to authors
• Collaborating with the project manager to meet timelines and quality benchmarks
  
  

• At least 3 years of experience in developmental book editing
• Strong understanding of curriculum standards and pedagogy
• Excellent command of Filipino language (grammar, syntax, tone, and usage)
• Able to evaluate materials for developmental appropriateness and learner engagement
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
