The Sustainability Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of Copeland’s energy, emissions, water, and waste data. You will support global facilities in data collection, drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, and help implement and sustain Copeland’s carbon accounting platform.

As The Sustainability Support Specialist, You Will

  • Collect, validate, and maintain high‑quality Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data, as well as water, waste and recycling metrics across all Copeland facilities
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of environmental data
  • Communicate regularly with global facility teams to provide support, training, and guidance on data submission requirements
  • Analyze month‑over‑month, quarter-over-quarter, and year‑over‑year trends to identify anomalies, improvement opportunities, and insights for sustainability reporting
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of Copeland’s carbon accounting and reporting platform, including data migration, testing, training, technical support, and user support
  • Collaborate with Sustainability, Operations, EHS, and Facilities teams to align data processes with Copeland’s broader environmental objectives
  • Assist in developing standard work, documentation, and training materials for environmental data management
  • Monitor emerging sustainability reporting expectations and best practices to help strengthen Copeland’s environmental data governance

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and identify data quality issues
  • Interest in or willingness to learn about sustainability topics such as greenhouse gas accounting, waste management, and Global Environmental Governance (GEG)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with global stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and support structured processes

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

  • Experience with sustainability reporting, environmental data management, or carbon accounting
  • Familiarity with Scope 1, Scope 2, and waste reporting methodologies
  • Prior experience working with global teams
