Job Description

The role of a Store Supervisor in a department store is critical to the smooth operation of daily activities and the successful management of retail staff. The Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing store personnel, ensuring efficient store operations, and fostering an amazing shopping experience for customers. A key part of this position involves maintaining high standards of customer service, inventory management, and maximizing sales while minimizing costs. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage and motivate a team of sales associates and junior staff members.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain for restocking needs.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are consistently delivered.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Implement sales promotions and merchandising plans for product displays.
  • Conduct regular staff training sessions on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the store manager to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store.
  • Handle cash management and banking operations according to company policies.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new employees to strengthen the store team.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in retail management is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail management or supervision.
  • Proven track record of sales achievement and team leadership experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage store operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
