Job Description

We’re looking for a Sr. Technical Lead to join our Business Insights and Analytics team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to collaborate closely to the business and project teams in order to transform data into insights, to recommend appropriate visualizations and reporting solutions, and to build a high-performing team of data analytics professionals.

Operational Excellence

  • Work closely with stakeholders and project team to understand and recommend BI solutions, including architecture
  • Define the structure, roles, and responsibilities of each project team member
  • Monitor and lead the solutioning team to ensure timely completion of deliverables, as well as identify tasks to be allocated on a sprint
  • Collaborate with COEs and cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to understand report requirements

Data & BI Solutions

  • Gather data from various sources including databases, spreadsheets, logs, and external datasets.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, automations, and various reporting solutions including but not limited to Power Platforms
  • Convert raw data into a format suitable for analysis through data cleansing, normalization, transformation, and modeling
  • Manage BI platforms including system updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Develop apps and automated workflows as part of a reporting solution
  • Develop reports and dashboards to present data in a visually understandable manner and to provide actionable insights

Governance & Strategy

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business success
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance on dashboarding / business intelligence requirements
  • Conduct code reviews, scripts analysis and optimization, as well as testing of reporting automations or business intelligence solutions
  • Conduct team performance reviews and knowledge check-ins
  • Create project estimates and business solutioning proposals
  • Enforce data quality and consistency by implementing business standards and audit checks
  • Consistent review of existing processes and documentation
  • Create and execute business process improvements
  • Stay updated on business intelligence trends and incorporate design and development best practices
  • Research and development of process and technical improvements for existing solutions and emerging technologies
  • Participate in new hire selection process

Decision Authority

  • Provides professional advice – takes a lead role of process or program execution Is accountable for own work and contributes to setting standards through expertise in own job discipline that impact others’ deliverables
  • Work is guided by cascaded policies or business plans
  • May lead medium to large size projects or work streams with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity with multiple teams representing different interests

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors Degree holders are welcome to apply
  • Experience: At least seven years of extensive experience in Power Platforms (especially Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate) and other Business Intelligence tools, big data, and Azure platforms
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)
  • Shift Schedule (mid/night): Amenability to work on the assigned schedule (dependent on business need)

Minimum Skills To Hire/Must Haves

  • Demonstrate expertise of reports and dashboard development using Power Platforms
  • Experience with Qlikview, SQL, Data Lake is a plus
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts
  • Knowledge of ETL processes to manipulate and manage data
  • Familiarity with reporting tools to generate reports and compelling visualizations for stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues, and recommend best visualizations and reporting solutions based on reporting requirements
  • Ability to coach and provide consultation sessions with subordinates, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to train and conduct performance reviews
  • Planning and organizational skills, including ability to prepare schedules and communicate status of overall development effort
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) Certified
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) Certified
  • Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) is a plus
