The IT Assistant 14D25 position plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. This role entails providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support to end-users. An IT Assistant's responsibilities may include setting up, installing, and configuring hardware and software components and ensuring a seamless technological experience for all staff members. The IT Assistant should be familiar with the latest IT software and hardware solutions and be capable of working under minimal supervision. The successful candidate will work closely with IT specialists to deliver effective technical support, solving hardware and software issues, and ensuring that all technological equipment and resources meet the organization's needs. The IT Assistant should have strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Additionally, this role requires a keen attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users across departments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and printers.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and repair of IT equipment and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with IT specialists to troubleshoot network and software issues promptly.
  • Ensure all IT systems are functioning effectively and efficiently across the organization.
  • Monitor and respond to IT helpdesk requests, prioritizing as necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT inventory and user issues for future reference.
  • Provide support for audio/visual equipment during meetings or presentations.
  • Conduct basic IT training sessions for staff as needed to improve technical skills.
  • Assist with software licensing management and compliance across the organization.
  • Stay updated on the latest IT trends and technologies to improve support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an IT support role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with non-technical staff members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools and practices is preferred.
