Job Description

The IT Assistant is an integral part of any organization’s IT department, providing critical support and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems and networks. As an IT Assistant, you will work closely with IT managers and other team members to troubleshoot issues, perform maintenance, and offer technical assistance to end-users. Your role is crucial in ensuring all hardware and software function efficiently, thereby aiding in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks, adapt to varying technology challenges, and deliver excellent customer service. A strong foundation in IT fundamentals and a desire to continuously expand your technical knowledge are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support to staff members and troubleshoot hardware or software issues.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and regular upgrades of computer hardware.
  • Support the IT team in maintaining and updating software applications regularly.
  • Manage user accounts, including user setup, password resets, and troubleshooting.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions in the organization's ticketing system.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure and connectivity issues daily.
  • Perform routine checks on IT equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems usage and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to plan and implement IT projects efficiently.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of organizational data and IT resources.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of mobile devices and office printers.
  • Participate in IT department meetings to discuss improvements and innovations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in an IT support or technical assistant role is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems, particularly Windows and MacOS environments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for customer service.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with non-technical staff.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated on IT industry trends.
