Job Description

The Credit Management Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the credit and collections function within an organization. This position requires strategically managing the credit operations to minimize risk while ensuring that clients adhere to payment terms. As a key member of the finance team, the Credit Management Supervisor will be responsible for enforcing credit policies, evaluating customer creditworthiness, and managing a team of credit analysts and collectors. The role requires someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a solid understanding of credit risk management, and guide the team towards achieving financial targets while maintaining positive client relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the credit management team effectively and efficiently.
  • Evaluate credit applications and determine credit limits for new and existing clients.
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures in line with company goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews of outstanding debts and coordinate collection strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to resolve client credit issues promptly.
  • Analyze financial statements to assess the creditworthiness of potential clients.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on credit performance and present to senior management.
  • Maintain procedural compliance with local and federal credit laws and regulations.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, providing feedback and opportunities for development.
  • Work with legal or collection agencies for the collection of overdue accounts when necessary.
  • Implement systems to credit control management to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve relationships with clients through effective communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in credit management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing a team effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of credit risk management and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients and staff.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel and credit management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address credit challenges.
