Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Warehouse Design and Solutions Specialist.

The Warehouse Design and Solutions Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, and costing of warehouse layouts, storage systems, material handling equipment (MHE), and logistics solutions for new and existing warehouse projects. The role supports CAPEX planning, operational efficiency, and systems integration by translating operational requirements into efficient, compliant, and cost-effective warehouse and transport solutions.

What are the Responsibilities?

Warehouse & Logistics Design

• Convert operational requirements for Finished Goods (FG) and Raw/Packaging Materials (RM/PM) into optimized warehouse layouts and logistics designs.
• Develop detailed warehouse layout, racking, and MHE solutions based on engineering and building drawings.
• Design warehouse product flows from inbound RM/PM through production to FG outbound.
  
  

CAPEX Planning & Costing

• Prepare CAPEX cost estimates for warehouse projects, including MHE, racking systems, pallets, and related logistics equipment.
• Support project CAPEX budgeting and financial planning activities.
• Develop business justifications and compute cost avoidance and/or savings for improvement and investment projects.
  
  

SKU Profiling & Storage Optimization

• Conduct SKU profiling to determine appropriate storage and racking configurations.
• Design palletizing schemes considering SKU weight, height, safety, and compliance standards.
• Ensure racking and storage designs comply with applicable engineering and safety standards.
  
  

Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers to define scope of work, specifications, and technical requirements for logistics CAPEX projects.
• Support evaluation of supplier proposals, technical solutions, and cost comparisons.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  
  

Systems & Solutions Design

• Support warehouse and transport solutions design, including racking and MHE selection.
• Participate in the design and alignment of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) with warehouse operations.
  
  

Project & Site Support

• Design warehouse peripherals such as docks, staging areas, and other support facilities.
• Conduct site visits to plants and warehouse locations to support design validation and project implementation.
  
  

What are the Qualifications?

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline (preferred).
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or warehouse design is an advantage.
• Knowledge and working experience in AutoCAD or similar design tools.
• Understanding of warehouse layout planning, racking systems, MHE, and palletization principles.
• Basic knowledge of WMS and TMS solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and operational data.
• Good communication skills for supplier and cross-functional coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Willingness to visit URC plants and project sites as required.
