Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our growing IT Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our on-prem SQL and cloud databases. This role requires a strong understanding of database administration best practices, including performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery. Experience with Oracle administration and cloud technologies like Azure and GCP is a significant plus.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server instances and databases in DEV, Test, and Production environments
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
• Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
• Monitor database health and performance
• Ensure data security, integrity and access control as per auditing standards
• Perform regular periodic access review on all SOX in-scope systems
• Provide daily management, support, and troubleshooting of all databases in the landscape and ensure service availability
• Collaborate with project managers, application developers, systems/data engineers, and other IT professionals to design and implement solutions that integrate with databases
• Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures
• Automate routine database administration tasks
• Other duties may be performed as the need arises
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in database administration of SQL Server database environments
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and above
• Thorough understanding of relational databases, T-SQL scripting, best practices, database technologies and concepts
• Expertise in High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Clustering technologies, etc.)
• Experience with SQL Server Replication technologies (Merge and Transactional)
• Experience with SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS
• Experience with performance tuning, index analysis, and query optimization
• Familiarity with SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Query Store
• Proficient with SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints, etc.)
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity and performance issues
• Managing OLTP systems with high uptime
• Managing OLAP and DWH systems
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery using Commvault
• Familiarity with SolarWinds DPA as monitoring tool
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, T-SQL)
• Preferred but not required:
• Experience Oracle Application and Database (11g and above) administration
• Experience with Administering Azure services (Azure SQL, Databricks)
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Apache and IIS (version 6 and above) administration
