As part of the Global Power Systems and Infrastructure team, this role will provide the necessary support for Geotechnical survey expertise to complement and enhance our Mechanical, Electrical and Lead Design Management teams during Site Due Diligence or Land Acquisition activities. In addition, this role will work closely with our Civil engineering team to provide guidance during project execution. The key function of this role is to study and monitor, ground conditions on potential sites identified for development or acquisition.

Provide input into site due diligence for land acquisition or development
Gather and interpret geotechnical field data available online or from reports, including mapping, testing and inspection data.
Prepare professional and technically competent geotechnical summary reports for inclusion in overall due diligence study reports.
Manage relationships with clients and key stake-holders for high quality output.
Analyse ground models and design parameters including slopes and other ground conditions.
Assessing ground models developed during site inspections and soil testing.
Represent B&W at client stakeholder meetings.

Ensure all staff members complete mandatory compliance training when required

This is a senior appointment and will be required to develop full delivery capability including budget setting and achieving internal targets
Responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic roadmap to grow the team
education and training requirement (minimum)
A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering
6-10 years relevant experience
Master’s degree (desirable).
Progress toward chartership.
Experience Requirements (minimum)
Technical expertise in geotechnical engineering
Experience in a design consultancy
Experience in the delivery of geotechnical, engineering geology and other ground engineering projects, including preparing reports to a high technical level
Familiarity and an ability to interrogate a wide range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis), embedded and gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability and reinforced earthworks
Good grasp of soil mechanics
Proven previous experience of undertaking and managing: desk top studies; designing, procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs); checking Ground Investigation Reports & Geotechnical Design Reports
The skills to check and critically evaluate the work done by others, be it drawings, calculations or reports, and have a proven track record of doing so
