Overview

The Project Manager role at Two Way Cranes is multifaceted, encompassing project planning, execution, and oversight to ensure successful project delivery. This position involves conducting site inspections, managing contracts, providing HSEQ support, and promoting a culture of safety and quality within the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough site inspections and input relevant information into M-Files for the creation of accurate quotes or job orders.
  • Ensure that site assessments are comprehensive, taking into account project requirements and potential safety hazards.
  • Proactively chase up new work opportunities, including identifying potential projects, networking with clients, and submitting proposals to secure new contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to identify leads and convert them into profitable projects.
  • Understand the requirements of project contracts, including specifications and scope of work, and ensure that all project activities are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide advice and assistance on Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) matters to workers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct inspections of contracted or planned works to verify the implementation and effectiveness of HSEQ control measures, and promptly address any defects or incidents.
  • Regularly attend on-site meetings to address quality and safety-related issues, ensuring that all concerns are raised for review and resolution.
  • Verify that workers implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and review SWMS issued to workers on a regular basis to promote a safe working environment.
  • Information Dissemination and Training:
  • Acquire and disseminate HSEQ information to workers and service providers, facilitating training sessions and safety meetings to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Encourage the involvement of all stakeholders in achieving a safe and healthy workplace by soliciting input on work processes, health, and safety matters.
  • Conduct thorough plant inspections to identify potential hazards and risks and implement control measures as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure worker safety.
  • Maintain first aid kits and ensure that all injuries are promptly recorded and addressed according to company protocols. Provide data for management review meetings or participate where required.

Experience And Skills

Have a background in project management, preferably within the construction and/or heavy equipment industry. Key skills include leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, along with a sound understanding of HSEQ regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with cranes, contract management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement is essential for success in this role. Additionally, the ability to effectively manage resources, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements is critical for ensuring project success and client satisfaction
