The Payroll Specialist will manage the full cycle of payroll processing, from time-entry verification to final disbursement. This role requires a high degree of confidentiality, a deep understanding of tax regulations, and the ability to troubleshoot complex pay issues. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings. This position is a detail-oriented professional role which is responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time while staying compliant with tax laws and labor regulations.

Responsibility
- Payroll Processing: Administer bi-weekly payrun processing employees, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws. Prepare payroll-related reports for management and external auditors.
- Data Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title or department transfers.
- Time & Attendance: Audit time-tracking systems to ensure hours worked are logged correctly and comply with overtime regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions regarding paychecks and tax forms (W-2s).
- Benefit Administration Support: Coordinate with HR to manage payroll deductions for benefits, superannuation contributions, and garnishments.
- Undertaking continual review and audit around data, compliance & payment processing
- Management of End of Month/quarter legislative requirements (i.e payroll tax, portable LSL lodgements etc)
- Monthly reporting and ad hoc reporting as required/needed
Onboarding & New Starter Administration
- Ensure all new starter paperwork has been completed
- Completing New Starter System Set Up in ELMO
- New Starter Auditing ensuring required documentation and licences has been received by HR
Offboarding Administration
- Undertake all offboarding steps for employees leaving the business
- Completing required system changes for offboarding in ELMO
General HR System Administration
Responsible for assisting the Human Resources team with HR system administration and reporting, including but not limited to:
- Management of the payroll Inbox
- Completing surveys and other documentation for payroll purposes
Other Responsibilities
- Development and maintain an understanding of Grosvenor Engineering Groups business operations, culture and objectives
- Act in a manner consistent with the Grosvenor values.
- Build sustainable, professional relationships with key stakeholders at various levels, championing workplace harmony
- Contribute to HR through research, development and continuous improvement strategies
- Comply with all Grosvenor’s Policies and Procedures, as amended from time to time.

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Previous experience working with the payroll system – ELMO Payroll
Previous experience in a position requiring high ethical standard of conduct, including the ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality and to exercise sound discretion.
Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office
Advanced computer skills (data entry, database management etc)

Previous Experience in a high-volume payroll processing position
