Paralegal - Litigation

About The Job

The role of the Paralegal is to assist Lawyers under the Litigation Division in handling cases filed by or against HC Consumer Finance Philippines, Inc. (HCPH) in the Courts or Quasi-Judicial Bodies as directed by the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and the Sr. Litigation Lawyer and to provide services allied thereto.

What You’ll Do

• Assist Lawyers in Handling Cases under the Litigation Division by:
• Monitoring of the progress of cases including following up with the court or Quasi-Judicial Agency
• Attending meetings and hearings (in cases permitted by the relevant Rules, Policies and Practices)
• Filing and Service of Pleadings and other allied documents
• Organizing and Updating the case files
• Drafting simple pleadings, letters, documents, needed by Litigation Lawyers.
• Maintain good business relationship with other departments by rendering appropriate assistance.
• Comply with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and other Company Policies and Regulations.
• Other tasks which may be delegated by the Immediate Supervisor the Head of the Litigation Division and the Head of the Department relative to the foregoing.
  
  

What You Need To Have

• 1 to 2 years experience as a Paralegal;
• Good written and oral communication skills;
• Pleading writing skills;
• Good legal research skills;
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Honesty and integrity;
• Pleasant and engaging;
  
  

8 Flexible work ethics;

• Can work under minimum supervision;
• Willing to travel.
  
  

Nice To Have Areas

• Driving skills;
• Familiar with the locations of the Courts and Quasi-Judicial Bodies;
