About The Job Merchandising Management Senior Management
The Senior Manager for Merchandising Management leads the overall design, layout strategy, and in-store experience across all MR.DIY stores nationwide. The role integrates Visual Merchandising (VM), Store Layout & Zoning, Planogram Management, and Store Setup Execution under one strategic function.
As the RTM Head oversees multiple pillars, this role acts as the primary expert and driver of end-to-end VM strategy, ensuring that store presentation consistently reflects the MR.DIY brand, supports operational readiness, and drives commercial performance. The role connects shopper behavior, brand intent, and operational execution to build stores that are organized, efficient, and high-converting.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience Strategy
Develop and implement the overall VM strategy, standards, and store experience guidelines across all MR.DIY store formats.
Ensure layouts, zoning, and visual language support shopper navigation, brand storytelling, and business objectives.
Translate brand and marketing campaigns into clear, executable in-store experiences.
Store Layout, Planogram, and Execution Management
Design and maintain store planograms, product adjacencies, and layout zoning for optimal customer flow and sales conversion.
Oversee the end-to-end implementation of new store setups, renovations, relayouts, and seasonal displays.
Ensure accurate and consistent on-ground execution through rollout guides, compliance audits, and field visits.
Merchandising Operations and Inventory Visibility
Align VM and display requirements with inventory availability, replenishment patterns, and category priorities.
Strengthen on-shelf visibility, product presentation standards, and display readiness across all stores.
Partner closely with Operations, Inventory, Marketing, and BI for integrated merchandising initiatives.
Use shopper insights, heatmaps, sales data, and store audits to refine layout strategies and improve store productivity.
Develop dashboards and KPIs to measure VM impact on conversion, dwell time, experience perceptions, and sales uplift.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and store performance.
Capability Building, Governance and Team Leadership
Develop VM manuals, execution frameworks, and audit tools to ensure nationwide consistency.
Train store teams, setup units, and regional managers on VM standards and fundamentals.
Lead and mentor the VM & Store Setup Team, promoting creativity, operational discipline, and commercial thinking.
Enforce compliance and oversee corrective action plans to maintain high-quality execution.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Industrial Design, Business Management, Architecture, or related field.
8–12 years of experience in retail visual merchandising, store design, or merchandising operations in a multi-branch retail environment.
Strong understanding of store productivity drivers: customer flow, category adjacencies, SKU visibility, and layout logic.
Proven experience leading nationwide rollouts and managing large-scale retail execution
Advanced project management, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
Proficient in VM tools and design software (SketchUp, Photoshop, Canva, or equivalents).
May be required to travel to stores and business locations nationwide to support project implementation, on-ground assessments, and strategic initiatives.
