Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior/Apprentice Architect for an entry-level support role with a thriving architecture and design firm. This fully remote position is designed as an apprenticeship, where you will learn under a senior architect and existing in-house staff to eventually master repetitive, high-volume production tasks. You will be assigned to a dedicated team focusing on commercial build-outs (such as retail coffee shops), making this an ideal role for a recent graduate looking to grow their skills in a professional studio environment while working on real project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting & Production Support: Create, edit, and update architectural drawings and drafts using CAD software and Revit, focusing on repetitive production tasks for dedicated commercial build-outs.
  • Task Management: Work collaboratively on a shared task queue alongside the senior architect and the dedicated project team to keep fast-paced projects moving.
  • Apprenticeship & Training: Actively participate in apprentice-style mentoring from senior hires and in-house staff to rapidly level up your skills within the first few months.
  • Design Support: Assist with the preparation of construction documents, floor plans, and design layouts.
  • Revisions & Redlines: Support the design team with structural revisions, redlines, and overall drawing coordination.
  • File Management: Maintain highly organized digital files and enforce version control for all CAD deliverables.
  • Research: Assist with basic design research and related documentation as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Architecture is strictly required (licensure is not required; recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply).
  • Revit Experience: Foundational proficiency and hands-on experience using Revit for architectural drafting and modeling is required. Early-stage skill levels are acceptable as dedicated ramp-up time and training are built into the role.
  • Drafting Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of industry-standard architectural drafting conventions.
  • Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and pinpoint accuracy when generating technical drawings.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to follow directions closely, incorporate structural feedback efficiently, and thrive in an apprentice-style learning environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored for remote collaboration.
  • Remote Infrastructure: Must have a dedicated home office setup with a reliable, high-speed internet connection.

Schedule & Work Arrangement

  • Employment Type: Full-time position (40 hours per week).
  • Days: Monday through Friday.
  • Working Hours: US Business Hours (CST)
  • Location: 100% Fully Remote.

Benefits of Working for Hyre

  • Performance-based raises.
  • Minimum of 5 days of paid time off annually.
  • Annual cost-of-living adjustments at your one-year anniversary.
  • Opportunities for continuous career growth.
