About The Job

The Senior Cloud Administrator leads the design, implementation, and management of complex cloud systems and platforms. This role is responsible for configuring and optimizing both public and private cloud environments, ensuring scalable and automated workload deployment.

With a strong understanding of cloud architecture and operations, the senior administrator defines and executes operational standards, assists in vendor selection, and ensures that cloud services are cost-effective, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. They also mentor junior staff and collaborate across teams to improve cloud infrastructure and processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Domain Expertise:
  • Act as the principal technical resource for implementing the organizations enterprise cloud strategy (Azure/AWS).
  • Guide and mentor cloud engineers and administrators on best practices in cloud deployment and operations.
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives, subscription management, and policy compliance.
  • Proactively stay updated on new features and services to drive innovation and service improvement.
  • Business Analysis & Solution Design:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
  • Design and automate scalable VM deployment models aligned with performance and availability needs.
  • Work closely with application and platform owners on performance tuning.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Define and enforce minimum-security standards for cloud infrastructure.
  • Align cloud architecture with regulatory requirements and internal security policies.
  • Implement governance strategies for policy enforcement, access control, and resource tagging.
  • Integration & Operability:
  • Oversee integration of Azure/AWS environments with on-prem systems and third-party services.
  • Ensure smooth operation of hybrid environments leveraging DNS, Active Directory, APIs, etc.
  • Continuity & Incident Management:
  • Design resilient architectures supporting business continuity objectives.
  • Act as Tier 2 escalation point and lead incident resolution efforts.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement preventive measures.
  • Cost Management:
  • Lead cloud cost monitoring, billing, and software/license governance.
  • Propose strategies for workload consolidation and migration to improve cost-efficiency.

What You Need To Have

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in cloud infrastructure and administration environments.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing and operating AWS and/or Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing AWS/Azure cloud solutions from the ground up based on business needs.
  • Strong background in integrating on-premise systems (DNS, AD, LDAP) with cloud environments.
  • Advanced knowledge in cloud security, data protection, and compliance using native cloud security tools or third-party solutions (firewalls, WAF, ACLs).
  • Skilled in connecting hybrid environments using APIs, connectors, and middleware solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing both Windows and RHEL operating systems, Active Directory, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
  • Deep experience in virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi/vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Have hands on experience in Databricks and data warehousing (snowflakes, redshift, data lake)
  • Advanced scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, VPCs, subnets, NATs, routing tables (AWS), and Azure architectures.
  • Experience using enterprise monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, SolarWinds.
  • Azure and/or AWS certifications preferred (e.g., AWS SysOps Admin, Azure Administrator Associate).
