Job Description: Training Specialist
Position Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. This role ensures that training initiatives align with organizational goals and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct training needs analysis to identify skill gaps and requirements.
Design and develop engaging training materials, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and job aids.
Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions using interactive methods.
Measure training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Partner with HR, department heads, and external vendors to coordinate training initiatives.
Design structured learning paths for different roles and career stages.
Implement and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital tools.
Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.
Support leadership development programs and facilitate workshops on coaching and mentoring.
Ensure mandatory compliance training is delivered and tracked.
Source and manage external training providers and negotiate contracts.
Assist in preparing and monitoring training budgets.
Promote a learning culture through internal campaigns and communication.
Generate reports on training completion, effectiveness, and ROI.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Training completion rate (target: 95%+ for mandatory programs).
Post-training assessment scores (average improvement of 20%).
Employee satisfaction with training (survey score: 4.5/5 or higher).
Reduction in skill gaps identified during performance reviews.
ROI on training programs (cost vs. productivity improvement).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related field.
3+ years of experience in training, learning & development, or instructional design.
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
Proficiency in e-learning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPLP, ATD).
Experience with digital learning tools and virtual facilitation.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
