Job Description
Provide leadership, management, and supervision of Family Services (FS) and its operations [AP1.1]in an assigned area, which includes but is not limited to: clinical services to members and missionaries of the Church, consultation with Church leaders and the Missionary Department, community resource development, program management, and direct supervision of all area FS staff, including senior service missionaries, and employee relations. This role facilitates and ensures whole area quality professional service and staff development. and The role supports compliance with professional standards of conduct and licensure compliance with legal and ethical requirements. It also manages financial and budgetary controls. This is a people manager role that manages over the work of others (which may include mixed workforce.) and The incumbent reports to the Welfare and Self-Reliance (WSR) area manager or to a Family Services regional manager.
Responsibilities
RESPONISBILITIES:
Six core areas of responsibility include:
People management
Leader consultation
Missionary services
Counseling
Community resource development
Program management
Regular duties across the six core areas include:
Manage and lead area operations, including the building of a strong partnership with the WSR area manager and their team.
Oversee employees - ensure the application of People Management Principles.
Protects and ensures client confidentiality.
Manages area budget and resources.
Facilitates coordination between other welfare divisions and Church departments.
Responsible for own continued professional development.
Serve as mentor for other staff.
Develop and fulfill whole area service plans,’ including coordinating overnight travel to outlying areas as needed.
Develop relationships with industry professionals and network with community resources.
Responsible, in partnership with HR, the WSR area manager, and the FS regional manager, to hire employees and recommend advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line. This includes performance management and recommendations for discipline and termination.
Other duties as assigned.
Time in each responsibility will vary based on area needs and resources.
Regular interactions and consultations may include bishops, stake presidents, mission presidents, Area Seventy, and general authorities.
May include travel to work in outlying areas, on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
Masters degree in business, organizational or international development, closely related discipline and/or equivalent education/experience.
Seven years progressive leadership or organizational development experience including managing a workforce/team.
Ability to understand professional terminology and interact proficiently and professionally with clinically trained mental health professionals.
Demonstrated and documented ability to provide productive, efficient, effective and quality work.
Must possess excellent communication, written and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to provide effective executive-level presentations and proposals.
Proficiency in computer skills necessary for presentation, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Area and Family Services headquarters approval.
Proficiency in verbal and written English.
