Role Overview

The Head of Data will lead the enterprise‑wide data strategy for one of the Philippines’ largest and most diversified manufacturing groups covering food, beverage, and agro‑industrial commodity businesses with operations across multiple countries and regions.

This role is responsible for designing, building, and governing industrial‑scale data platforms that enable operational excellence, supply chain visibility, regulatory compliance, sustainability reporting, and data‑driven decision‑making across farms, plants, distribution networks, and commercial functions.

The Head of Data will ensure that data is treated as a strategic production asset, comparable to raw materials, facilities, and logistics infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture (Enterprise & Industrial Scale)
• Define and own the group-wide data architecture blueprint covering manufacturing, supply chain, quality, sustainability, finance, sales, and corporate functions.
• Design scalable data architectures that integrate:
• Manufacturing and plant systems
• ERP platforms (multi-instance, multi-country)
• Supply chain, logistics, and commodity trading systems
• Ensure architectures support:
• Real-time and batch analytics
• Forecasting, planning, and optimization use cases
• Traceability from raw materials to finished goods
• Establish architectural standards that support multi-country operations, cost efficiency, reliability, and resilience.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, OT/IT, cybersecurity, and regional technology teams.
• Data Engineering (Manufacturing & Supply Chain Focus)
• Lead the design and operation of robust data pipelines across factories, farms, warehouses, ports, and commercial systems.
• Oversee ingestion, transformation, and orchestration of high-volume, high-frequency data from:
• Production lines and equipment
• Quality and food safety systems
• Inventory, logistics, and distribution networks
• Ensure high standards for data quality, availability, timeliness, and performance, especially for operational and regulatory use cases.
• Implement modern data engineering practices, including automation, monitoring, and reliability engineering.
• Build and scale regional and local data engineering teams supporting business units and plants.
• Data Governance (Food, Commodity, and Regulatory Context)
• Establish an enterprise data governance framework aligned with:
• Food safety and quality standards
• Commodity traceability and origin requirements
• Data privacy regulations across the Philippines and other operating regions
• Define data ownership and stewardship models across corporate, regional, and plant-level organizations.
• Lead initiatives on:
• Master data management (products, vendors, suppliers, customers)
• Metadata and lineage (from raw materials to finished goods)
• Data classification, retention, and archival
• Ensure audit-ready data environments for regulators, customers, and certification bodies.
• Promote responsible and ethical use of data, including environmental and sustainability data.
  

• Act as the single accountable leader for data across the group, balancing global consistency with local operational needs.
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Sustainability, Finance, and Commercial leaders.
• Enable advanced analytics initiatives such as:
• Demand and supply forecasting
• Yield and waste optimization
• Predictive maintenance
• Sustainability and ESG reporting
• Champion data literacy and adoption among operational and business leaders.
• Lead organizational change as plants and functions mature in their use of data.
  

• Delivery of a group-wide data strategy and target architecture aligned with manufacturing and supply chain priorities.
• Measurable improvements in:
• Data quality and trust across regions
• Time-to-insight for operational and executive decisions
• Operational data platforms embedded in factories and supply chains.
• Strong governance foundations that support food safety, traceability, and compliance without slowing execution.
• A high-performing data organization with clear operating models across corporate and regional teams.
  

• 12–15+ years of experience in data, analytics, or technology leadership within manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, or commodities.
• Proven experience leading data architecture, data engineering, and data governance at enterprise scale.
• Deep understanding of data challenges in multi-plant, multi-country, and asset-intensive environments.
• Experience working across IT, OT, and business operations.
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders and business heads.
  
  

• Experience with global or regional manufacturing operations.
• Exposure to food safety, quality management, supply chain traceability, or sustainability data.
• Ability to operate effectively in multicultural, multinational environments.
• Balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution capability.
