To support the Plant Manager in overseeing the overall operation of the Plant and Equipment Department, including equipment investment and acquisition, maintenance management, administration, logistics coordination, and asset optimization. The role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, safety, and cost control across all plant activities.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to the following:
Operational Leadership & Supervision
Lead, supervise, and monitor all Plant and Equipment Department personnel.
Ensure departmental objectives are aligned with project and company goals.
Oversee daily plant operations including equipment utilization, allocation, and availability.
Maintenance & Asset Management
Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Ensure preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented to minimize corrective maintenance costs.
Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and lifecycle management.
Oversee spare parts and critical inventory management.
Investment & Procurement Oversight
Review and approve investment requests and purchase requisitions for plant and equipment.
Support equipment acquisition, mobilization, and divestment activities.
Ensure optimal asset utilization and cost efficiency.
Budget & Performance Monitoring
Prepare and review monthly reports on budget compliance, operational efficiency, and maintenance KPIs.
Monitor departmental expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Safety & Compliance
Conduct and support regular safety meetings and training in coordination with the HSE Department.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, permits, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture within the department.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with internal departments to support project equipment needs.
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and government agencies when required.
Support multi-project assignments and field operations as necessary.
Profile
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Desired Knowledge / Experience
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in plant and equipment management (preferably in infrastructure or rail projects)
Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Experience in fleet management, heavy equipment operations, and asset lifecycle management
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
