The Business Intelligence Data Steward is responsible for maintaining consistent data quality among managed entities in our business systems and is a key contributor to both the maintenance and utility of our data assets. This role partners across the Risk business units to ensure data is created, managed, and effectively utilized. The work performed by this role is foundational to building best-in-class analytical capabilities on behalf of the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Sales organization. This role supports Sales Operations’ overarching mission to deliver increased sales effectiveness and sales productivity, and influence sales performance behaviors.
Accountabilities
Maintain the accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity of enterprise data by applying established data governance standards, processes, and policies.
Research, analyze, and resolve data quality issues across business systems, including account ownership, customer relationships, parent-child hierarchies, organizational structures, and industry classifications.
Perform data cleanup, enrichment, deduplication, householding, hierarchy maintenance, and remediation activities to improve the completeness, accuracy, and usability of account, customer, billgroup, and contact records.
Validate customer, enterprise, household, legal entity, and billgroup relationships, including parent and subsidiary structures, to support accurate reporting, sales visibility, territory alignment, and business processes.
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of data issues, implement corrective actions, and support ownership alignment, territory assignments, customer hierarchy management, and governance initiatives.
Participate in enterprise data governance activities, including stewardship reviews, business rule validation, lifecycle management, data standardization, and continuous improvement efforts.
Analyze data trends, exceptions, and quality metrics to identify risks, recommend process improvements, and support informed business decision-making.
Monitor and communicate data quality metrics, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and provide guidance on data standards, governance policies, and best practices.
Collaborate with data stewardship partners across RELX to promote consistent, effective, and scalable data management practices across business units.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree holder
1+ years’ experience in data management, data governance, data quality, master data management, and/or designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process preferred.
Verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to establish and cultivate relationships with key business partners.
Motivated to understand and keep current with relevant Industry trends and best practices.
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects along with recurring responsibilities and adjust to changing priorities with minimal leader input.
Ability to research data definition, usage and flow to gain expertise in existing systems.
Troubleshooting skills to investigate, resolve, and escalate problems. Identifies need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
Understands and can apply key data stewardship and data governance concepts.
Data and business analysis skills, including strong documentation skills.
Have a general aptitude for tools
Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives.
