Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Software Developer youll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

• Design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM z/OS using Easytrieve (commonly known as Easy) and related mainframe technologies.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and efficient code.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with Japanese and English-speaking teams, providing clear communication and documentation in both languages.
• Support system integration, deployment, and production maintenance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and project timelines.
  
  

• Proficiency in Easytrieve / Easy programming language on IBM z/OS.
• Strong understanding of mainframe concepts: JCL, DB2, CICS, RACF, and related tools.
• Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to Japanese stakeholders and translate requirements effectively.
• Experience in debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Amenable to work in a client dictated shift (day, mid, night) and open to work in either IBM Quezon City / IBM Cebu.
  
  

• Experience with additional mainframe languages (COBOL, PL/I).
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
• Prior experience working with Japanese clients or in multicultural teams.
• Knowledge of financial or insurance industry systems.
• JLPT N1-N3 Certification
