Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Software Developer youll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

Your Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications running on IBM z/OS systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that support critical business operations.
  • Develop, test, and maintain applications on IBM z/OS using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning of z/OS applications
  • Collaborate with system analysts, QA testers, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and support
  • Maintain documentation for programs, processes, and procedures
  • Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis for production issues
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards

Preferred Education

Bachelors Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in z/OS application development (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS)
  • Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and batch/online processing
  • Familiarity with version control tools and change management processes
  • Ability to write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Amenable to work on a client dictated shift (day, mid, night).
  • Open to work on any of IBM locations (Quezon City or Cebu).

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience with REXX, IMS, or Assembler is a plus
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with integration between mainframe and distributed systems
  • JLPT N1-N3 Certification
