Claims Senior Associate

We’re looking for a Claims Senior Associate to join our Insurance Operations team at MBPS. In this role, you will support our Long-Term Disability (LTD) operations by calculating revised benefits for members who are approved for CPP Disability or enrolled in a Gradual Return to Work program. You’ll help ensure members receive accurate benefit updates and understand how these were calculated. This role directly supports Manulife’s mission by ensuring fair, timely, and accurate payouts while delivering a positive customer experience. You’ll also gain deep experience in disability benefits, financial calculations, and client communication.

Position Responsibilities

• Calculate revised LTD benefits for members with approved CPP Disability or Gradual Return to Work arrangements.
• Contact plan members or Service Canada to communicate benefit changes and explain calculation details.
• Process corresponding payments accurately and in accordance with guidelines.
• Manage tasks with a high level of accuracy, particularly during peak periods (end of month and first week of the month).
• Collaborate with Case Managers, CPP Analysts, and other business unit partners.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduates may also apply, provided they have at least 2 years of BPO, back‑office, or administrative experience
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (10–20% of work involves calls)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to accurately interpret contract provisions
• Ability to work the 8 PM – 5 AM PHT shift (ND/HP eligible)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• High attention to detail and accuracy in benefit or financial calculations
• Experience in back‑office, insurance, claims, or disability‑related work
• Strong comprehension and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders (Case Managers, Analysts, etc.)
