Lead the on-site execution of multidisciplinary works-including Trackwork, Signalling, and Power Supply-according to Colas Rail standards and CP106 procedures. Ensure all activities are performed safely, to the required quality, and according to the project schedule. Coordinate and supervise both Colas Rail teams and subcontractors throughout installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Main Responsibilities
Signalling: Oversee the installation of trackside signalling equipment, cable containment, cable pulling and termination, as well as the installation of signals and point machines.
Power Supply: Manage low- and medium-voltage works within substations, including equipment handling, installation, and associated testing.
Trackwork: Supervise all trackwork activities, including rail installation, fastening, turnout assembly, bonding/earthing, and related inspections.
Ensures that the health, safety and environmental rules are respected and applied and informs his/her manager of any malfunctions
Demonstrates exemplary behavior in his field of work: with regard to customers, safety and the environment
Prepares the job: resource planning, layouts, signage and tracing. Monitors the construction process, and ensures that projects are completed on time and according to specifications
Manages and follows the progress of the job: management of contingencies and feedback, corrective measures in case of deviations, schedule, orders, deliveries, stocks, etc.
Represents the company with all stakeholders of the job: guarantees the companys image and responds to the customers requests
Leads the team according to the project managers instructions, allocates tasks and ensures the integration and training of new recruits
Guarantees the quality of the job for its acceptance, conducts final inspection of construction projects
Profile
Proficient in cable containment, pulling, termination, and installation of signals and point machines.
Competent in handling and testing low- and medium-voltage substation equipment.
Capable of preparing and executing work based on method statements and technical drawings.
Ensures quality assurance through inspections and final acceptance procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools for planning, reporting, and coordination.
Effective in planning, prioritising, and meeting project deadlines.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Models exemplary behaviour in safety, environmental care, and customer relations.
Demonstrates professional excellence and commitment to exceeding performance objectives.
Leads and motivates teams, allocates tasks, and integrates new recruits.
Coordinates with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Represents the company professionally and addresses client concerns effectively.
Analyses problems, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions.
Adapts to changing site conditions and project requirements.
Maintains high attention to detail in execution.
Takes initiative and ownership of site outcomes and team performance.
Manages construction phases while controlling quality and schedule.
Minimum Experience
At least 5 years of experience as a supervisor or team leader in installation works, ideally in metro or railway projects.
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following (in order of preference):
1- Signalling
2- Power supply
3- Trackwork installation
Multidisciplinary experience (across more than one of these areas) is a strong advantage.
Experience coordinating both direct labor and subcontractors on-site.
