Position Summary:   

Join our team as an Electrical Engineer II and help bring advanced power supply solutions to life in our Medical Design Group. You will design, develop, and validate power conversion systems for medical and healthcare applications, balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Working closely with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Systems Engineers, you will support product development from concept through production release using simulation, prototyping, testing, and design verification methodologies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works as part of a cross-functional team, balancing time and scope to meet product requirements and project schedules, collaborating with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams.
  • Owns electrical design activities from concept through production release, including architecture development, schematic capture, simulation, testing, documentation, and design verification.
  • Design and develop switch mode power supplies (SMPS), power conversion circuits, and related control circuitry for medical and healthcare applications.
  • Perform circuit simulation, worst-case analysis, tolerance analysis, and design optimization to ensure robust product performance.
  • Develop prototypes, perform bring-up activities, conduct debugging, and verify compliance to product specifications.
  • Plan and execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) and support design validation activities.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) with consideration for cost, quality, reliability, supply chain resilience, and component lifecycle management.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and failure analysis to resolve design, manufacturing, and field issues.
  • Participate in risk management activities including DFMEA, design reviews, and engineering change management processes.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, test reports, specifications, and controlled design records.
  • Support manufacturing transfer, product qualification, regulatory compliance, and sustaining engineering activities.

 

Qualficiations

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing power electronics, switch mode power supplies, or related electronic products.
  • Experience designing analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Experience using circuit simulation tools to support design decisions and correlate simulation results to physical testing.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, circuit analysis, component derating, and failure analysis methodologies.
  • Experience performing laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and product verification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred

  • Experience developing medical devices or products within regulated industries.
  • Experience participating in medical device development processes including design controls, risk analysis, verification, validation, and engineering change management.
  • Experience working within ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820), or comparable quality systems.
  • Experience conducting DFMEA and supporting product risk management activities.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and regulatory compliance testing.
  • Experience with reliability engineering, component qualification, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards for medical electrical equipment.
  • Experience with digital power control, microcontrollers, or embedded systems integration.
