The Opportunity
This is a leadership role for a hands-on Commercial Construction Project Manager who wants full ownership of ground-up and major remodel projects, not just a piece of the process. You will manage projects nationwide from pre-construction through closeout while working remotely with a seasoned team and traveling to job sites as needed. If you enjoy solving problems in real time, leading field teams, and being the person clients trust to deliver, this role offers both autonomy and strong operational support.
What Youll Do
Lead and manage ground-up commercial construction and large-scale remodel projects from planning through closeout.
Own project schedules, budgets, change orders, and job cost tracking to deliver work on time and within budget.
Coordinate and direct project teams, including superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive communication and building long-term relationships.
Oversee field production, monitor progress against milestones, and address issues quickly to keep projects moving.
Maintain accurate project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and reporting using Procore and internal systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, regulations, and company policies on every project.
Travel to job sites as needed to support field teams, evaluate progress, and reinforce quality expectations.
What Success Looks Like
Within 36 months, you are independently managing multiple projects in different locations, with clear schedules, budgets, and communication plans in place.
Projects are delivered on or ahead of schedule and within agreed-upon budgets, with minimal rework or unresolved change issues.
Clients view you as a trusted partner, reflected in positive feedback and repeat or expanded work opportunities.
Field teams and subcontractors are well-coordinated, know what is expected, and consistently meet safety and quality standards.
Project documentation is current and accurate in Procore, enabling clear visibility for leadership and smooth closeouts.
What Were Looking For
57+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects as a Project Manager or comparable leadership role.
Proven track record delivering ground-up commercial builds; experience with major remodels is a plus.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, including sitework, foundations, structural systems, and building envelope.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications and make sound field and office decisions.
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, schedules, project budgets, and change management.
Confident communicator who addresses issues directly, keeps stakeholders informed, and makes decisions to maintain momentum.
Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction project management tools.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying aligned with distributed teams.
Willingness and ability to travel to job sites within the U.S. as required.
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; experienced tradespeople or field leaders with strong project management experience are also encouraged to apply.
