General Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

Portfolio Oversight: Monitor portfolio health and roadmap progress at a macro level, aggregating updates from Tech Leads to provide clear executive visibility.

Risk Management: Identify cross-project dependencies, overarching risks, and resource bottlenecks, escalating them to senior management with actionable insights.

Tech Lead Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to Tech Leads, ensuring they are aware of budget, timeline, and dependency risks without interfering in their day-to-day squad management.

Special Projects: Drive and coordinate special, cross-functional projects that fall outside the regular engineering squad roadmaps (e.g., infrastructure migrations, compliance initiatives, tooling rollouts).

Engineering Efficiency: Track and report on engineering efficiency metrics (DORA: Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, MTTR, Change Failure Rate) to identify macro trends and bottlenecks.

Capacity Management: Collaborate with TechOps and Engineering Managers to monitor overall team capacity and resource allocation across the organization.

Process Optimization: Analyze CI/CD and QA workflows from a high level to propose process optimizations and efficiency improvements across the tech organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in technical program management, tech operations, QA, or as a developer looking to move into high-level tech operations.
• A foundational understanding of how software is built and deployed (SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure).
• Experience utilizing project management and portfolio reporting software (such as Jira, or Confluence) to build dashboards and extract high-level data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to look at operational metrics and identify trends, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement.
• High attention to detail, ensuring overarching project dependencies and risks do not slip through the cracks.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical blockers into concise business summaries for stakeholders.
  
  

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Basic familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker Studio, or Metabase).
• Experience writing SQL queries to pull reporting metrics and automate dashboards.
