Senior Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of the organizations enterprise data platform. This role plays a key part in building scalable data infrastructure, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Scope Of Work And Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines and data lake/warehouse architectures.

Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).

Lead the adoption of modern data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory).

Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability issues.

Collaborate with product delivery teams and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.

Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and Kanban events.

Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions.

Apply best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, including CI/CD pipelines.

Stay updated with the latest trends in analytics engineering and recommend process improvements.

Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Educational Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications (Education & Work Experience)

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Relevant Experience And Other Requirements

At least five (5) years of experience in platform engineering or software engineering roles.

At least five (5) years of experience in architecture, design, and development of integrated systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

Experience developing microservices for data integration using TypeScript or Python.

Familiarity with data pipelines and modern data warehousing solutions such as Databricks.

Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server).

Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.

Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).

Experience With Azure DevOps Is Preferred.

Experience with Azure Cloud Services and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.

Certifications in Secure Coding, Scrum, or DevOps are a plus.

Experience working in teams of five (5) or more members.

Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
