Job Description
- Develops, implements and monitors policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local/national regulations and company safety policies by maintaining accurate records, completing regular safety reports, and submitting necessary documentation to management and DOLE.
- Monitor and track safety metrics on site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify hazards at project sites and recommend corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate hazards in the workplace.
- Provide and maintain statistical data, reports and analysis of accident/incident trends to operation in support of accident/incident reduction goals and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety.
- Establish effective communication skills and coordination among Project Managers, Project Site Engineers, Project Site Staff, Clients, construction site workers, and sub-con on site, regarding safety related protocols.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response drills and ensure readiness of emergency equipment.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations and training session for employees and subcontractors
- Graduate of any 4-yr course with at least three (3) years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry or related field.
- Completed the government mandated training in Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) and advanced specialize training is an advantage
- With Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner is an advantage
- Supervisory experience as Safety officer; with proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence. Oversight to laborers/workers in a construction site.
- With excellent leadership and strong communication in written, oral, presentation/facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Knowledge in ISO Regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Safey Act (RA 11058), Department Order 252-25, Workplace Safety and Environmental Protection Act.
- Preferred training certificates: Scaffolding and Working at heights, Confined Space, Welding, Loss Control Management (LCM), HIRAC.
