What will your job look like?

Strategic Vendor Management

  • Lead and manage relationships with 15-20 strategic vendors representing $50M+ in annual contracts
  • Develop and execute comprehensive vendor management strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Negotiate high-value contracts ensuring optimal terms, pricing, and service levels while protecting organizational interests
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with vendor CXOs to drive strategic partnerships
  • Design and implement vendor governance frameworks including performance scorecards, QBRs, and escalation protocols

Executive Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary liaison between internal C-suite executives and vendor leadership teams
  • Present vendor strategies, performance metrics, and recommendations to Executive Committee
  • Facilitate executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior leadership on vendor-related strategic decisions

Value Creation & Optimization

  • Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives targeting 15-20% reduction in vendor spend
  • Drive operational efficiencies through process improvements, automation, and vendor consolidation
  • Develop business cases for vendor investments demonstrating clear ROI and strategic alignment
  • Lead vendor rationalization initiatives to optimize portfolio and eliminate redundancies
  • Create innovative commercial models including gain-sharing, risk-reward frameworks, and outcome-based pricing

Project & Program Management

  • Oversee multiple complex vendor-related projects with high budgets
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations for vendor implementations
  • Manage vendor transitions, transformations, and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Ensure project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget while maintaining quality standards
  • Implement project governance structures and reporting mechanisms for executive visibility

All you need is...

Education & Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA strongly preferred)
    • Minimum 10-12 years of progressive experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, or procurement
    • At least 5 years managing high-value contracts ($10M+ individual contract value)
    • Proven track record of managing relationships with C-level executives and/or Board members
    • Experience in telecommunications, technology, or professional services industries highly desirable
Professional Expertise

  • Expert-level contract negotiation skills with demonstrated results in complex, multi-year agreements
  • Deep understanding of vendor management best practices, frameworks (ITIL, ISO), and governance models
  • Strong financial acumen including TCO analysis, business case development, and P&L management
  • Experience with vendor management platforms (Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow) and analytics tools
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent highly valued
