Job Description
Get to Know the Team
The Communications team at Grab is dedicated to sharing Grabs story with the world. Whether engaging with media, online influencers, industry commentators, or the broader community, our team represents the voice of Grab, shaping the brands narrative and building its reputation.
Get to Know the Role
The Communications team shapes how the world understands Grab. We engage media, creators, industry voices, and the wider community to build trust, protect reputation, and amplify Grabs impact.
In this role, you will lead proactive, social-first communications in the Philippines. That means designing stories to win in the platforms where people actually form opinions today: short-form video, creator ecosystems, community pages, group chats, and online-first newsrooms. You will drive campaigns that reinforce Grabs position as the countrys leading everyday super app, while making the brand feel human, culturally relevant, and credible.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Develop and execute social-first communications programmes aligned with business priorities, with clear narrative, audience, and distribution plans
- Proactively identify story angles that travel in social: human stories, partner wins, explainers, "receipts," and relevant cultural hooks
- Build and manage an advocacy ecosystem (media, creators, community admins, issue experts) that can amplify Grab narratives responsibly
- Create and/or direct production of multi-format content: short clips, talking-head interviews, quote tiles, explainers, FAQs, threads, statement assets, and spokesperson-ready soundbites
- Partner closely with Marketing and Social teams to ensure PR content is platform-native, on-brand, and optimized for reach, watch-time, and shareability
- Anticipate, manage, and respond to issues with a digital-first crisis approach (speed, accuracy, proof, and clear message architecture)
- Advise and prepare leaders for social-first visibility: message discipline, camera readiness, and consistent POV
- Manage agency partners to deliver fast-turn, high-quality outputs (content, earned placements, creator coordination) within budget
Track performance beyond volume: share-of-voice, sentiment, narrative penetration, engagement quality, and "forwardability," using insights to iterate quickly
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelors degree
- 8+ years of experience in communications / PR
- Demonstrated capability in social-first storytelling (short-form video, creator amplification, online-first media, community dynamics)
- You have a clear understanding of what will work on each platform and why.
- You possess a proven track record of building a story with clear audience takeaway, proof points, and repeatable messages.
- You default to specificity, evidence, and clarity—especially during issues.
- You think clearly in terms of networks, not just placements; you design content to be shared, stitched, quoted, and forwarded.
- You can move fast without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- You have a clear editorial judgment and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, native, and compelling narratives both for social and newsrooms
- Comfortable working with content production: directing shoots, briefing designers/editors, reviewing cuts, and improving assets quickly
- Strong understanding of the Philippine digital landscape: platform behavior, creator ecosystems, meme/news cycles, and reputational risk patterns
- Calm and disciplined under-pressure; able to make decisions with high stakes and imperfect information
- Highly collaborative, can design, lead, and launch project independently in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Experience in a regional and/or integrated marketing set-up is an advantage.
