Job Summary

The Inventory Disposal Manager is responsible for managing the disposal of excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and expiring raw materials, including fabrics, trims, end cuts, and other approved inventories. The position oversees the entire disposal process, from inventory validation and buyer sourcing to negotiation, documentation, and inventory release, to ensure timely disposition, maximize recovery value, and support efficient warehouse operations.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Raw Material Disposal

  • Plans and coordinates the disposal of approved raw materials in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
  • Works with Warehouse and other concerned departments to verify inventories and confirm items for disposal.
  • Monitors inventory aging and recommends appropriate disposal strategies.

Buyer Development and Commercial Negotiation

  • Develops and maintains a network of qualified stocklot buyers and prospective customers.
  • Represents the Company during buyer meetings, warehouse inspections, bidding activities, and commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiates selling prices, payment terms, and disposal agreements in coordination with Accounting and Management.

Documentation and Process Control

  • Ensures that all disposal transactions are properly documented, approved, and supported by complete records before inventory release.
  • Maintains disposal records and buyer database.
  • Recommends improvements to disposal procedures and internal controls.

Reporting

  • Prepares regular reports on disposal activities, recovery value, and inventory status.
  • Performs other related duties that may be assigned by Management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Timely disposal of approved raw materials.
  • Achievement of target recovery value.
  • Development of a reliable stocklot buyer network.
  • Compliance with approved disposal procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Efficient utilization of warehouse space.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Specifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in sales, procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, or commercial negotiations.
  • Experience in the garment, textile, retail, or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
