Job Description

The Production Planner is responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure timely and cost-efficient manufacturing of products. This is done by regular coordination with connecting departments like Merchandising, Purchasing, Material Warehouse (Fabric and Accessories), Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Creative and Product Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Scheduling:

Developing and maintaining production schedules to meet customer due

dates, aligning them with material availability and production capacity.

  • Resource Coordination:

Working with purchasing and production teams to coordinate the flow of materials and ensure production is ready and maximized.

  • Performance Monitoring:

Tracking production progress, identifying bottlenecks, and consulting Department Heads on solutions to be implemented to maintain production efficiency and quality.

  • Cost Management:

Monitoring production costs to ensure processes operate within budget and looking for ways to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.

  • Reporting:

Communicating production status, issues, and performance to Division Manager.

Key Skills

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving:

To analyze production data, anticipate issues, and develop effective solutions.

Familiarity with data analysis tools is essential for interpreting data and making informed decisions.

  • Organization & Time Management:

To handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and complex schedules effectively.

  • Communication & Collaboration:

To work effectively with various departments and individuals across the company.

  • Technical Knowledge:

Proficiency with ERP systems and a deep understanding of the industry and production processes.

  • Microsoft Office Software Proficiency:

Must be proficient with Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting and data analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in garment manufacturing as a Production Planner or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional teams.
