Government Relations Officer

Government Engagement

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key Philippine government agencies and institutions that procure or regulate language, communications, education, and digital services, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
• Serve as the company’s primary representative in government and public sector engagements.
• Promote the company’s expertise in translation, interpretation, localization, and multilingual communication services to relevant public institutions.
  
  

• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting language services, outsourcing, education, digital services, data privacy, and cross-border service delivery.
• Assess regulatory and policy developments and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Support licensing, registrations, and compliance requirements relevant to outsourcing, language services, and digital platforms.
  
  

• Identify opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, public universities, and international development organizations requiring multilingual communication services.
• Support the preparation of proposals and partnerships for government procurement programs.
• Facilitate participation in public sector tenders and bidding opportunities.
  
  

• Coordinate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Sales) to respond to government inquiries, regulatory issues, or compliance reviews.
• Manage potential regulatory or public affairs issues that could impact company operations or reputation.
  
  

• Represent the company in industry associations and professional organizations related to outsourcing, translation, localization, and language technology.
• Participate in public forums, conferences, and policy discussions to strengthen the company’s thought leadership in multilingual communication services.
• Engage with universities, linguistics departments, and research institutions to support talent development in the language services sector.
  
  

• Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure services and contracts comply with relevant government regulations and procurement rules.
• Provide regular updates and policy briefings to headquarters on developments affecting the language services and outsourcing industry in the Philippines.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Linguistics, Communications, Law, or a related field.
• A Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Linguistics, or International Affairs is a strong advantage.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, public sector partnerships, or regulatory affairs.
• Experience in language services, BPO, localization, technology services, education, or professional services industries is highly preferred.
• Established relationships with Philippine government agencies and public institutions involved in education, digital services, or outsourcing.
• Strong understanding of Philippine government structures, procurement processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with translation, interpretation, localization, multilingual content management, and language technology services.
• Understanding of data privacy and cross-border information management regulations, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
• Awareness of government procurement frameworks administered by the Government Procurement Policy Board.
