Get to Know the Team

The Grab Financial Group Lending team builds and grows lending businesses that help consumers, drivers, and merchants access relevant financial solutions across the Grab ecosystem.

We are continuously looking to expand the portfolio across high growth levers including: Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), electric vehicle lending, merchant lending, and digital goods. We work closely with Product, Risk, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Fleet, and Commercial teams to build sustainable businesses and deliver meaningful value to our customers and partners.

Get to Know the Role

As Assistant Manager, Lending Commercial, you will support the strategic planning and commercial growth of multiple lending business lines in the Philippines.

You will translate business opportunities into practical growth plans, identify new use cases, develop customer value propositions, and coordinate cross-functional execution. Your work will cover both lending disbursals and the broader customer activity that strengthens the lending funnel, including monthly transacting users and product engagement.

This role is suited to someone who can move between strategic planning, business analysis, stakeholder management, and hands-on execution in a fast-changing financial services environment.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Growth Strategy and Performance Management

• Develop strategic plans to grow key business metrics across core commercial pillars and new product offerings.
• Identify growth opportunities across customer segments, use cases, distribution channels, partnerships, pricing, and customer value propositions.
• Translate business goals into measurable initiatives, operating plans, business cases, and execution roadmaps.
• Monitor business performance, identify key drivers and gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare performance reviews, management updates, strategic recommendations, and decision materials.
• Balance growth ambitions with customer experience, credit risk, operational feasibility, and sustainable economics.

Consumer Growth Initiatives

• Support the launch and growth of consumer financing solutions across digital payments and ecosystem use cases.
• Work with Commercial, Marketing Communications, Product, Finance, Risk, and Operations teams to increase awareness, adoption, usability, and repeat usage.
• Identify opportunities to expand consumer product use cases and improve the overall customer value proposition.
• Track customer adoption, usage, conversion, repeat activity, and portfolio performance to guide growth decisions.
• Support the development of launch plans, customer propositions, campaigns, and post-launch improvement initiatives.

Partner and Asset Financing

• Support the development and growth of commercial financing solutions for drivers, vehicle owners, and fleet operators.
• Partner with Fleet management team, Commercial, Risk, Operations, Product, and external stakeholders to develop scalable operating models.
• Help design new lending fulfilment and operational processes, including processes that may initially require semi-manual execution.
• Assess customer and partner needs across vehicle acquisition, fleet operations, collections, and related services.
• Support the rollout of new commercial financing programmes by ensuring operational readiness, clear ownership, and effective performance monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to improve disbursals, customer experience, turnaround times, and operational scalability.

Commercial and Business Financing

• Develop initiatives to improve financing adoption across various merchant and business partner segments.
• Work with Key Account Managers and other Commercial teams to identify and convert suitable business financing opportunities.
• Develop new approaches to address low take-up, including improved positioning, distribution, targeting, and customer education.
• Collaborate continuously with Risk on expansion initiatives, eligibility improvements, and new lending opportunities.
• Track merchant acquisition, application conversion, approval, disbursal, and repeat usage to identify areas for improvement.

Digital Services and Ecosystem Growth

• Support the growth of digital ecosystem products and transactional services to expand customer engagement.
• Build go-to-market and customer growth plans for new and existing digital service offerings.
• Grow monthly transacting users and strengthen engagement across the digital products portfolio.
• Work with Product, Marketing, Commercial, Operations, and Finance teams to launch new features and improve customer adoption.
• Identify opportunities for digital product usage to expand the sales funnel by generating relevant customer activity and behavioural insights.
• Establish performance tracking for customer acquisition, activation, repeat usage, and transaction growth.

Cross-Functional Execution and Business Operations

• Coordinate multiple workstreams across Product, Risk, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Fleet, Commercial, and Technology teams.
• Establish clear milestones, ownership, dependencies, and success metrics for strategic initiatives.
• Conduct structured analysis to diagnose business performance, customer behaviour, operational issues, and execution gaps.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, and improve turnaround time and scalability.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Manage ambiguity effectively and drive initiatives from planning through implementation and performance review.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in strategy, commercial management, business operations, product growth, financial services, fintech, consumer technology, or a related field.
• Experience developing and executing growth strategies, business plans, or commercial initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholder teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to evaluate customer value, business impact, operational requirements, and risk considerations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
