Cartage Specialist

Overall Role Purpose

• Manages timely and cost-efficient dispatch of trucks to comply with customer’s requirements
  
  
  

• Ensures maximum use of available fleet of trucks
• Liaises with drivers and sub-cons for timely delivery and pick-up of cargoes based on customers’ requirements
• Meets trucking requirements of the various business units’ external customers
• Evaluates sub-con truckers’ performance in compliance with custom-ers’ requirements
• Provides accurate delivery and pick-up assignments to drivers/ help-ers
• Receive booking from Business Units’ Booking
• Assigns and instructs truck and delivery crew to handle assigned booked delivery/pick-up requests
• Provides Delivery Receipt forms to drivers
• Monitors progress of booked deliveries and pick-ups up to the com-pletion point.
• Monitors send out of POD of delivered cargoes to the requesting BU’s
• Monitors report related to Export shipments
• Delegates trucking assignments to drivers and sub-cons timely and cost-efficiently
• Minimum supervision required in the daily dispatch of trucks and drivers
  
  
  

• At least 2 years of working experience, preferably from logistics experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Computer literate
• Effective Delegation Skills
• Negotiation People Management Skills
• Degree in Business Administration or related subject
