Position: Senior Billing Manager

Your Role

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for 3-5 assigned medical practice accounts
  • Conduct monthly client calls to review performance metrics, address concerns, and provide strategic guidance
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with practice administrators, office managers, and physicians
  • Proactively identify and resolve billing issues before they impact client satisfaction
  • Present quarterly business reviews showcasing account performance and improvement initiatives

Revenue Cycle Operations

  • Monitor weekly practice metrics including collection rates, denial rates, A/R aging, and days in A/R
  • Conduct monthly quality audits for each assigned practice to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze trends and implement corrective actions to improve financial performance
  • Troubleshoot complex billing scenarios including denials, appeals, credentialing issues, and payer disputes
  • Execute or support new client onboarding from kickoff through go-live and stabilization

Offshore Team Coordination & Management

  • Coordinate daily with offshore billing team members assigned to your accounts
  • Provide clear direction, priorities, and expectations for offshore team workflows
  • Review offshore team work quality and provide constructive feedback
  • Train offshore team on client-specific requirements, payer policies, and best practices
  • Escalate offshore performance issues and participate in resolution

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all billing activities comply with HIPAA, payer requirements, and industry regulations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client communications, issues, and resolutions
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
  • Stay current on coding updates, payer policy changes, and regulatory requirements.

What You Need

  • 5+ years of medical billing experience with proven track record
  • Experience independently managing 4-5+ accounts with minimal oversight
  • Deep expertise in complex billing scenarios, denials management, and appeals
  • Demonstrated success managing or directing offshore billing teams
  • Strong client relationship skills with ability to lead difficult conversations
  • Track record of improving account performance metrics and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

Must-Have Experience

  • 5+ years of medical billing experience (Billing Manager level) OR 10+ years (Senior level)
  • Hands-on experience with medical billing software and practice management systems
  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
  • Understanding of insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management
  • Experience with commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Proven ability to analyze metrics and identify performance trends

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with medical billing software (experience with specific platforms a plus)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel for data analysis, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable learning new software systems quickly
  • Ability to navigate payer portals and clearinghouses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialty experience in OB/GYN, family practice, urgent care, pediatrics, or behavioral health
  • Coding certification (CPC, CCS, or similar)
  • Experience managing or training remote/offshore billing teams
  • Track record of improving collection rates, reducing A/R days, or decreasing denial rates
  • Experience with client onboarding and implementation projects
  • Previous experience in a medical billing company or RCM vendor environment
