The Sales Manager supports the overall strategic management of the hotel by establishing effective working relationships with senior colleagues, in particular the General Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Finance and Director of Human Resources. This role will provide support and advice to the General Manager in strategic planning and overall business goals relating to Business Development issues of the brand and the hotel as well as maintain the corporate standards, brand integrity and hotel image.

What will I be doing?

As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure all inquiries are handled within standard response time, touch-base and probing, proposal and follow-up.


Drive conversion of leads generated through effective and efficient handling of leads and by applying Hilton’s Sales Standards.

  • Ensure confirmed leads are endorsed timely to the implementation team with complete details to ensure success of groups and events.
  • Ensures optimum production and utilization of function rooms by creating strategies deemed fit based on the current trends and market intelligence.
  • Responsible in developing and growing key accounts that have groups and event requirements by establishing strong relationship and probing further on the needs of these clients.
  • Drive the loyalty of clients through Hilton Honors Event Planner Program sign ups.
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators specifically focused on implementation of events as set and agreed to.


Ensure individual goals are met. Monthly goals to include conversion, telemarketing and various sales responsibilities that are assigned by the Director of Events/ Commercial Director and to communicate results regularly through daily briefings/weekly revenue meetings.

  • Respond and handle enquiries for all groups and events (by telephone, email and walk-in guest) within standard timeframe.
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel by providing inputs on an account or industry basis.
  • Monitor own prospect and tentative bookings in Delphi to ensure follow through and update status in the system within the standard timeframe.
  • Assess group requirements and physical requirements of the proposed function (no. of pax, time, and type of function) and reserve an appropriate venue for the client in the banquet reservation system.
  • Discuss with the client further details pertaining to an event: menu (food and beverage), setup and AV requirement, budget, payment method and other pertinent arrangements.
  • Prepare proposal letter based on the clients’ requirements, ensures 4 hours response time and proposals to be sent not more than 24 hours.
  • Follow up with clients on proposals within 3 days and ensure follow through to confirm business.
  • Prepare contract and ensure to secure payment (Deposit, PO/LOA) and endorse timely to the implementation team properly with complete details.
  • Conduct and provides insights from the market intelligence being gathered as assigned on a weekly basis.
  • Attends major functions (i.e. trade shows and promotional events) and chamber meetings that deal especially with his/her market area
  • Represent the Senior Sales Manager (Reactive) when he/she is away from the office
  • Handles key accounts in his/her assigned area and ensure optimum production from these target companies by establishing strong client relationship and maintaining an in depth knowledge of the company’s needs.
  • Ensure proper and timely endorsement of Groups and Events to Implementation Team once confirmed with signed contract and deposit/payment.
  • Monitors and maintains the proper appearance of the office area.
  • Ensures that the Hilton Brand Service Standards is fully implemented and adhered to

  • Understand and follow hotel policies, departmental rules, and SOPs.
  • Plan sales calls properly to maximize results.
  • Meet and service in-house FIT clients, groups and organizers.
  • Oversee that group orders are routed to all departments concerned.
  • Carry out negotiation for rates with corporate clients and travel agents.
  • Follow-up on correspondences.
  • Submit weekly sales plans and reports.
