Project Estimator Intermediate

About This Role

Cosmo is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator - Kitchen Cabinets to join our team. This role is responsible for performing Architectural plan take-offs of kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops, analyzing project specifications, and preparing accurate cost estimates using our estimate template that support bids and proposals. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, a strong understanding of kitchen cabinet design, and exceptional attention to detail.

A background in architecture or kitchen and bath cabinet design is a must. The Estimator will collaborate closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural and construction drawings to perform detailed plan take-offs for bidding purposes.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for bids, proposals, and ongoing projects.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope and materials needed.
• Collaborate with the sales and project teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates, bid documents, and revisions.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure accurate pricing and timelines.
• Verify and cross-check measurements, quantities, and design details for accuracy.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve cost efficiency and maintain quality.
• Support the team by contributing technical insights during bid and project review meetings.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, safety, and accountability in all estimating activities.
  
  

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of estimating experience, preferably in construction, cabinetry, or design environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings.
• Experience with kitchen and bath cabinet design is a major plus.
• Proficiency in estimating and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
• High attention to detail, with a commitment to quality, accountability, and safety.
