Job Description
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee daily hub operations covering inbound, outbound, sortation, scanning, dispatch, and cross-docking.
- Ensure all shipments are sorted and dispatched accurately and within required timelines.
- Monitor operational KPIs such as sorting accuracy, on-time throughput, cycle time, and exceptions.
- Manage automated and manual sortation processes, addressing bottlenecks and improving workflow.
- Maintain high standards of quality control to minimize misroutes, damages, or declined cargo.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of required operational reports.
- Direct and supervise all transfer-related activities involving cargo movement and allocation.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and developmental training for operations teams.
- Assist in resource planning, budget preparation, and inventory management.
- Coordinate with logistics partners, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and hub layout optimization.
- Supervise staff handling dispatching, inventory, pending shipments, crating, disposal, and related tasks.
- Comply with organizational policies, safety protocols, SOPs, and workplace standards.
- Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and functionality of facilities and equipment.
- Uphold the organizations values and demonstrate professional behavior at all times.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in operations or logistics management, preferably in a hub, warehouse, freight, parcel, or distribution environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in leadership and people management.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and critical problem-solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in sortation systems, cross-docking, inventory management, and workflow optimization.
- Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MS Office applications.
- Ability to make timely operational decisions in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
