The GBS Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of finance and accounting activities for Hellmann Shared Service Center Inc. in the Philippines. The role combines operational ownership, statutory and tax compliance, month-end governance, management reporting, and team leadership. It acts as the primary finance partner for GBS management and collaborates with regional and global stakeholders to maintain robust controls, reliable data and scalable processes.
Key Tasks:
A. Finance operations and transaction governance
Own the end-to-end control and quality of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, bank, payroll accounting, employee expense and petty cash activities.
Oversee vendor creation with Master Data Management, invoice and payment postings, vendor account reconciliations, customer receipt postings, cash advances, fund requests and finance-related employee queries.
Ensure bank and cheque payments, bank approvals, foreign exchange transactions and supporting documentation follow authorized controls and approval requirements.
Monitor service quality, ageing items, disputes, exceptions and backlogs, and drive timely resolution with process owners and stakeholders.
B. Month-end close and financial reporting
Lead the monthly close and ensure reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, amortization, foreign-exchange revaluations and intercompany activities are completed accurately and on time.
Oversee bank reconciliations, balance-sheet account reviews, fixed-asset accounting, depreciation, asset capitalization and retirement, and employee assignment or cost-centre updates.
Coordinate FTE reporting, sustainability-related finance inputs, global tax inputs, global invoice postings and other group reporting requirements.
Prepare or review financial statements, management reports, variance analysis and clear explanations of material movements, risks and corrective actions.
C. Billing, planning and business partnering
Own the monthly GBS billing process, including source-data consolidation, support files, cost-centre validation, approvals, invoice creation, distribution and dispute resolution.
Lead GBS forecasting, budget preparation and budget reviews; identify variances, cost drivers, risks and opportunities for management action.
Provide fact-based financial advice to GBS management and support decisions on cost, controls, investments and operational priorities.
D. Tax, statutory and regulatory compliance
Ensure complete and timely Philippine tax compliance, including applicable withholding, payroll, quarterly and annual corporate income tax, related-party disclosure and required data-file submissions.
Oversee statutory payments and reporting relating to SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG/HDMF and other applicable obligations.
Own PEZA reporting, business permit renewal, BIR audits and tax mapping activities.
Coordinate external audit, income tax return preparation and transfer-pricing documentation with appointed advisers and ensure audit-ready supporting records.
E. Controls, risk and process improvement
Maintain a strong internal-control environment, segregation of duties, approval discipline, documentation standards and evidence retention.
Review accounting policies and procedures, identify control gaps and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Drive standardization, simplification and automation using available finance systems and Microsoft 365 tools; improve data quality and reduce manual effort.
Ensure operating procedures, process maps and backup arrangements remain current and usable.
F. People and stakeholder leadership
Lead, coach and develop the Finance & Accounting team; set clear objectives, allocate work, manage capacity and build succession and backup coverage.
Run effective team routines, performance discussions, leave planning and required FTE or workforce approvals.
Build strong relationships with GBS management, regional and global finance teams, banks, auditors, tax advisers, government bodies and internal process owners.
Create a service-oriented culture with clear accountability, constructive challenge, transparent escalation and continuous improvement.

Educational Background / Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
Active Philippine Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licence strongly preferred
At least 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years of leadership
Demonstrated experience in Philippine statutory accounting, BIR tax compliance, audit coordination and month-end close.
Experience in a shared service centre, global business services or multinational environment is strongly preferred.
Practical experience with ERP-based accounting, advanced Microsoft Excel and management reporting tools, and Power BI experience are advantageous.
Experience improving controls, standardizing processes and implementing automation is highly desirable.
