The Engineering Technician cooperates with his / her superior to ensure the normal operation of hotel equipment. This role is responsible for the general work order maintenance work assigned by his / her superior or assisting the Engineering department’s maintenance team in completing other maintenance work.

What will I be doing?

As the Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Ensure that all maintenance work is performed safely, and in accordance with statutory and company regulations and good engineering practice.
• Inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a large inventory of electric and gas commercial kitchen equipment and appliances such as stoves, ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers.
• Responds to and addresses any kitchen equipment concerns that arise related to hotel operations, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Coordinates, supervises and double checks the works of specialist vendors during preventive maintenance visits.
• To liaise with the Repair and Maintenance Engineer regarding maintenance/ repairs and planning ahead so as to maximize operational uptime.
• Fielding, prioritizing and carrying out service support requests by in-person inspections and from an online work order system.
• Keeps his/her direct supervisors informed on the progress of all jobs as per hotel operational requirements.
• Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictate.
• Inspecting, analyzing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.
• Ensure there is always an adequate stock of parts, tools and consumables required to maintain the equipment for which they are responsible.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of all kitchen equipment are undertaken as per PM Plan schedule. Repair records are kept and filed correctly, Items that needs to have action plans are recorded and addressed.
• Provides basic training to engineering personnel about kitchen equipment repair and maintenance or to other employees in the organization who may be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Implements (ENERCON) energy conservation program.
• Keeps technical knowledge and skills up to date the stares it to team.

• Active and motivated in work, with a good sense of service.
