The Category Manager / Key Account Manager (Food & Beverage) is responsible to lead and manage the assigned category vertical (e.g., Food & Beverage) on the SM Malls Online platform, driving category growth through strategic planning, merchant and brand development, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to meet commercial targets and deliver a superior customer experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Category Strategy & Planning - develops and owns the annual and quarterly category roadmap for the assigned vertical (e.g., Food & Beverage); identifies growth opportunities, gaps, and emerging trends within the category; defines category assortment strategy, pricing guidelines, and promotional calendar; aligns category plans with overall commercial and platform objectives
Merchant & Brand Management - manages and nurtures relationships with all brands and merchants within the category; sets performance expectations and SLAs with merchants; escalates persistent issues; oversees onboarding of new brands into the category vertical; ensures brand presence, listing quality, and content standards are maintained across the platform
Team Leadership & Development - leads, coaches, and develops Category Officers handling assigned brand clusters; allocates workloads across officers and ensures balanced coverage of the category; conducts regular performance reviews and provides actionable feedback to direct reports; identifies training needs and supports capability-building within the team
Commercial Performance - monitors and drives category GMV, conversion rates, and other key commercial metrics; reviews and analyzes category performance reports submitted by officers; proposes and implements corrective actions to address performance gaps; collaborates with marketing teams on category-level campaigns and promotions
Stakeholder Management - acts as the primary point of escalation for category-related concerns from internal and external stakeholders; coordinates with Logistics, Finance, Marketing, and other departments to address category requirements; presents category performance updates to senior management on a regular basis
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
With at least 5 years of working experience in Category Management, Business Development, Sales, or Account Management; with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Graduate of any 4-year degree course: Business Management / Administration, Marketing, Commerce
