Job Description

The Network Engineer – Data Center Operations is responsible for the day-to-day support, monitoring, and maintenance of data center network infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring network availability, security, and stability by performing configuration management, health checks, and incident resolution across data center and QA environments. The engineer will work closely with operations and change management teams to support firewall, ACI, and core network components while adhering to established operational and security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain data center network infrastructure, including Cisco ACI and firewall platforms
  • Perform configuration backups, log monitoring, and state-of-health (SOH) checks for network devices
  • Configure and manage network ports and connectivity within the data center environment
  • Create, modify, and maintain firewall policies for border and east-west/data center firewalls
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot incidents to ensure high availability
  • Support QA network environments, including core routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless components
  • Implement VLAN and policy changes in QA environments as required
  • Participate in ticket handling, monitoring, and incident response activities
  • Create and manage RFCs in accordance with change management processes
  • Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and on-call (duty phone) support
  • Coordinate access requirements and support operational network activities


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting data center network environments
  • Hands-on experience with firewall administration, including policy creation and log analysis
  • Working knowledge of Cisco ACI or similar SDN/data center networking solutions
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with network monitoring and ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident and change management
  • Willingness to participate in on-call support and maintenance activities
  • Good communication and documentation skills
